      Peter Kempel Willerup, 84, passed away July 21st, 2016 in Danville. Peter was the husband of Christina, and is survived by his son Lars (Jill), grandsons Niels and Liam of Modesto, and Poul (Lisa), grandsons Jake and Nick of San Mateo. He was born in Gentofte, Denmark, and graduated from the University of Copenhagen, with a degree in Land Surveying and Engineering in 1958. The  same year, Peter left for Canada and then journeyed across the US and later California where he began woorking for PG&E in San Francisco in 1963. He retired in 1987 as the Director of Land Engineering. In 1961 he met Christina Rosenqvist in San Francisco and a year later they were married in Sweden. They later settled in Piedmont, where theey resided for over 30 years. In 2003, they moved to Danville. Peter was an avid sports fan and loved going to CAL Football games. He enjoyed traveling and sailing all over the world. The sea and sailing were his passions. A private memorial will be held in his honor. In his memory, any donations may be made to www.give.berkeley.edu care of football.
